How a new note is learned
Every note goes through four steps, in the order people learn a language: hear it first, then see it, then point to it, and only then produce it.

- Play Play it on your own violin while Clefle listens.

Is it free?
Yes — everything is free right now, with no ads.
Do I need a violin?
Not to start. Reading notes, finding them on the fingerboard and listening only need a phone or computer. The play-along part needs a violin and a microphone.
Is it good for kids?
There's a kids' mode with bigger text, a little bird companion, short sessions and no percentage scores — just a progress bar and a few stars. Children who can read will follow along; younger ones do best with a parent beside them. A parents' page shows how the week went.
Where is my data stored?
On your own device. There are no accounts, so your progress, your answers and the sound from your microphone never leave it. Clefle only counts anonymous usage, with no cookies — see Privacy. Clearing your browser data clears your progress too, so there's a button to save it to a file.
Does it teach piano or guitar?
Only violin for now. Piano, guitar, saxophone and drums are planned.
